The mystery is over and Google has made a return to the branded phone war field. Google launched Samsung Nexus S and the phone comes equipped with latest version of Android operating system, Gingerbread. The phone, also dubbed as “Pure Google”, is capable of conducting searches and writing emails from voice commands. However, in the beginning, this feature will only be available in the US.
So, the new baby from Samsung stable features a 4-inch screen, big enough to blurry the divide between smartphones and tablets. One of the more striking features is the NFC or Near Field Communication capability of the phone. NFC will offer you contactless transfer of your data. The phone has a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor with 16GB of built-in flash memory. Its rear camera has a resolution of 5MP and the phone also has a frot-facing VGA camera.
The phone will be available via Best Buy Stores in the US. The unlocked and without contract handset has been priced at $529, whereas you will have shell out $199 with a contract. In the UK, Carphone Warehouse has already started accepting the orders for the phone, however it has not provided any definitive delivery date. Just be prepared to pony up more money than you would have to for iPhone 4. The phone is available for £550 sans contract whereas you can get it for free if you sign up a £35 per month contract. Best Buy UK is expected to start selling the phone on December 20th.
